Help us create a Home that puts people back on their feet!
6.5 million PLN… madness? To us, it’s a mission we are unwilling to give up, since human lives are at stake. In Stage 1, we are raising 1,185,000 PLN to bring the old tenement building into a state of a finished shell construction. We are facing to perform:
- dismantlement and demolition works;
- work to ensure safety and strengthening of the foundations;
- masonry and strengthening of walls, construction of roof trusses and roofing.
Help renovating the Home
Who do we help?
In the polluted region of Silesia, in the small, most populous town of the province of Upper Silesia, Świętochłowice, is located an old and dilapidated “familok” – a classic tenement building. This very house is meant to become the beating heart of the town. A heart filled with difficult stories that have happy endings
- 1Mothers with children and pregnant women suffering from domestic violence
- 2Lonely elderly people
- 3Adolescents leaving foster care
- 4Children facing challenging living conditions
- 5Sick and disabled people in need of permanent care
- 6People with intellectual disabilities
What does the Home look like?
We are restoring a “familok” and dreary life in Silesia
Just ruins? Perhaps at first sight… Yet a professional architect confidently stated that this location is suitable for making it a real Home for vulnerable people. And just as we aim to restore the crumbling life in our small town, we intend to transform this sad and abandoned “familok” into a place full of life, hope and support.
Care, assistance, work
We have a good understanding of Silesian life and we clearly notice the need for something extra, something new, that will restore faith in humanity. Within Poland, this is the first Home of its kind, offering shelter and assistance to people of all ages: from the very first to the very last stages of life. People in need can rely on the help of specialists (including psychologists, therapists, medics and vocational teachers) and are allowed to reside in this Home, even if they live at the other end of the country.
What will we create in the Home?
- 1Respite Care apartments, which we use to provide short-term support for people in need of permanent care, in order to relieve their caregivers.
- 2Assisted living; homes for young people leaving foster care, who we train to be independent, and for people with mental health issues.
- 3
Homes for mothers who escape domestic violence, and for pregnant women.
- 4
Club Cafe “The Resting Place”, a friendly workplace for people with intellectual disabilities.
- 5
A Daycare Center for underprivileged children, where they can feel safe, get help with their schoolwork, eat a hot meal and develop their talents.
- 6
A Senior Club to serve as a place for integration and participation for people over 60.
- 7
A Carpentry Workshop and a Print Shop, where young people will be taught a trade, which meets the demands of the labor market.
- 8
A Psychology Practice, a place to go to for people experiencing a psychological crisis.
- 9
A Toddler’s Club, providing the mothers in the Home with support in caring for their children, allowing them to be active themselves.
The “Bounce Back Home” will be a place of support for people who lacked love, acceptance and warmth in their own homes, and who wish to make a positive change in their lives. Every resident will feel important, valued and wanted, no matter the difficulty of their life situation. It will be a unique HOME, full of kindness and hope for a better future, in which care will be offered to people from every stage of life, from conception to the last breath.
Support in a way that suits you
